I am working on obtaining the documents and plan to visit consulate next week sometime. When I spoke with my employer, I was told that there were other cases in different consulate location in India where our employees faced similar problems. One of the case was also with an H4 candidate who was told to produce all these documents, at least one good thing I was told that all the cases were approved after submitting the supporting documents in few days. Hi,
I applied I-140/485 last July. In November, 2007 I left the previous employer, i.e. before 180 days. In April, 2008, my I-140 is approved, i.e. after 180 days. I have worked for them for 4.5 years.

In case you decide to re-start your GC with another employer, use the approved I-140 to retain your original priority date.

However I did not get any FP notice yet! Do you know if Biometrics is a requirement for issuing the physical green card and also any idea how long it takes to get the card from this point of time.

I know a friend in the exact same boat.. A very big multi-national co. with more than 10K employees.. they are even revoking his EB3 that was filed in 2004.. It's not USCIS rule.. it's just some employers being strict with their internal rules..
Unless you work for a big company with lots of benefits.. time to get EB3 filed.. and then bolt the first chance you get..

Let me begin by Thanking you immensely for standing up for the cause of legal immigrants. Your response to the July Visa Bulletin fiasco made me very pleased and re-instilled the hope in me that I had lost as a result of the recent announcements by USCIS to stop accepting Adjustment of Status applications.
It is indeed appalling that the various problems faced by highly skilled legal immigrants get lost in the cracks of the system and do not get any media coverage.
I have been in the U.S for approximately 9 years now. I graduated with a Masters in Engineering from a highly ranked school here, always played by the rules and still am stuck in the backlog delays and the bureaucracies of the immigration process.
The July visa bulletin released on June 13th a gave me and others a ray of hope which was crushed after USCIS stopped accepting applications on July 2nd. I have spend huge amount time, effort and attorney's fees preparing all the paperwork and submitting it to USCIS on July 2nd.
Again I want you to know how much me and other skilled workers in the same situation as me, appreciate your taking up this issue with Dept of State and USCIS. Thank you so much for your help in this critical hour. Please help us in resolving this issue and also discuss this with your colleagues in congress so they may also take up this issue with the Federal government agencies.

Thats is the law. They have to provide no matter how much blood suckers they are. Of course it depends on how you make them realize that.
I was offered one when i was in that situation way back in 99.
Its as per law. But in practice, we do not see it happening much. maybe I am not aware. Anyway getting a flight ticket back to home country is not an issue for a great discussion :)

I am July 2 filer. My EAD and AP was filed later in August. I got my EAD and AP receipts but I am yet to get I-485 receipt. Has this happened to anybody else? Is it possible to get 485 case number from the EAD or AP case numbers?

where we should file a complain to DOL(state ot federal). Every state also has separate DOL e.g. VA has DOLI( department of labor and industry) but federal also has DOL(department of labor) where we should file such complain?

Received a USCIS email notification today, for my pending 485 (EB3), priority date not current. Waiting for the RFE details, the RFE was only for the primary applicant not for the dependents.
