I currently have approved EAD, I-140 and waiting for a Visa number to become available. My receipt date for I-485 was July 2nd 2007 and my notice date was September 27th. My employer is closing the IT department in March. Though it has been 180 days since my receipt date, it's not 180 days since my notice date. Will my I-485 processing be impacted when a Visa number becomes available? Also, will it be Ok if I'm out of a job for a short time while I'm looking for my next job? I sincerely appreciate the help and guidance in this matter.

My Labor was approved under EB2 as the job required a Master's Degree but the Lawyer by mistake filed my I140 under EB3 and was approved Oct 2006. The mistake was noticed in May 2007 when we were planning to file for I485. The lawyer refiled my I140 under premium processing on may 23 2007. I checked the status on line and the LUD is May 27 saying application was received. The lawyer told me that CIS is waiting for 'original labor notice' from the labor dept.
Its been 2 months now and I am getting worried.
Anyone who has been in similar circumstances or familiar with this situation pl help. :(

What sort of "tricks" are you after.
I think it's fair to say that "learning to use the camera itself" is the easy part. Understanding of how to take good photos is a lifetime ambition for most of us... ;-)
To put it another way, there may well be small tricks like "if you set this up, you can press that button, and you've automatically set it ready for doing X". Which is great. But if you don't know the basic things like: composition, lighting/exposure and control of focus/depth of field, which are the basic photography concepts, then you're barking up the wrong tree fishing for tricks.
So, some tricks are "rule of thirds" and "blur out un-wanted background noise". But that's regardless of the camera you use.

I'm with Michael on the lizard shot ... maybe it's the disconnected rear foot that makes it look odd.
I REALLY like the water lily shot, Josh. The composition is beautiful, with the other lily pads forming a "circle of circles" counterbalance to the flower. Very, very nice ... in fact, probably my favorite of all your posted photos. (not that I have anything against the others)

Hi
My I-140 was sent on July, 28th to TSC. I did not yet receive any receipt number. How long does it take to get the receipt number once I-140 is applied?
I received my Receipt in 6 Days. Applied on 21th June and Receipt on 27th June. But still in process at Nebraska Service Center.

My LCA appl has a priority date of June 2004; and so far, Dallas BEC has lost my resent-appl twice. Lawyers failed to retrieve any status after that, and suggested a congressional liaison enquiry into it. If anybody is aware of this enquiry, would you plz let me know? Thanx.

If L1 quits the job (for what ever reason) and any change in status such as L1 to Fi etc; will automatically invalidates the L2. Meaning L2 status NO LONGER valid

Hi all!
I've been trying to get a job offer from Canada for the past one year as my occupation is not on the list of occupations that have shortage. I'm a market research analyst and work online with a UK company for almost 3 years. I would love to move to Canada and have a real job and family but am at a stage where I do not know what else to do as the companies want you to be present in Canada and Canadian govt asks for a job offer to get a visa?
Very confused here. If someone got an arranged offer from Canada could you please guide on how much work experience you had and how you got an offer?

1)Move to Canada & study for 1 yr., a person who have study there for 1 yr. in Canada & has 2 yr. of experience can apply for Canada immigration, even if his profession is not in NOC list. You would be eligible as you have 3 yrs. experience.

I am using my EAD and working for the company which filed by PERM/I-140/I-485. Currently I am being paid a lot more than the prevailing wage on the PERM so my company has suggested me that they will give the amount listed on the PERM as a salary and the remaining as a check to the company that I own. I have a business in my name but all I did was register the company name; never actively ran the business.
Please share your concerns/opinions about the possibility of above scenario. Do you think taking the salary and B2B expense would cause a problem with the green card process?

Unfortunately that's how it usually works - dependants' NC is cleared quickly, but the primary applicant's NC is not. Dependants cannot get approvals ahead of the primary applicant. So the whole family is forced to pay for EAD and AP extensions. Talk about generating revenue...

With the recent implementation by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) allowing concurrent filing of Form I-360 Religious Worker Petition and Form I-485 Adjustment of Status Application, most applicants want to know what documents to submit with an adjustment of status (AOS) application.
Persons with a pending I-360 religious worker petition are now eligible to file an AOS application before September 9, 2009. The AOS application is used by persons who are in the United States to apply with USCIS to adjust to permanent resident status.
Along with the Adjustment of Status Application on Form I-485, one must remember to submit:
a copy of the I-360 receipt notice,
two passport style photos,
a copy of the applicant’s passport,
a copy of the applicant’s birth certificate (along with a certified English translation if the document is not in English), and
a medical examination report performed by a designated civil surgeon.
If an AOS applicant has ever been arrested then a court-certified copy of all arrest records and the final disposition of the case is required (excluding traffic tickets).
Individuals between the ages of 14-79 are also required to submit a Biographic Information Sheet on Form G-325A.
The most important thing to remember before sending the AOS application is the filing fee! Do NOT forget to submit a check or money order to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in the amount of $1010. No additional fee is required for Form I-765 Employment Authorization Application and for Advance Parole on Form I-131 if filing with an AOS application.

I had recently applied for my 5 yr old son for passport renewal at washington DC embassy, as we fall under their jurisdiction and got the new passport.
I had mailed all the documents and it took around 1 months to get the passport.

I have a request / concern / what ever you would say.
Please do not cirtize if you do not like the idea, just ignore and leave the thread.
There are so many people comming to IV for other experts guidance on different things mainly on H1B status, AC21 status, AP, FP, EAD and H4 to EAD, .....
Why don't you create a general guide lines or rules or do's and don't or QA's for each topic, so that each member or visitor who come to IV can atleast go through them before asking or posting quesitons.
You can create a survery for different kinds of questions people / members / visitors might ask or have fore each topic before creating the thread so that we can have a pool of questions and answers for each topic from experts or attorney answered. (you might say we have recordings from attorney Prashanti Reddy, but it would be good if we have some thing which can be referred easily i.e., typed.
These are just some of my thoughts, it can or cannot be implemented. It depeneds on IV admins/Gurus/Experts on this forum.
Gurus, please provide your thoughts.
